Goodbye Hootie.

On Wednesday morning my wife and I had to have Hootie, our dog, put down. This was a long time coming, but it still sucks. Hootie was the best dog I have ever known. I will miss so many things about her: the sound of her, the way she’d hide under the desk when there was a thunder storm, her happy greeting at the door every day when I’d arrive home from work, treeing squirrels. My house and my life are more empty now that she’s gone. I will always miss her, but I’m glad she’s resting now and at peace. Goodbye Hootie. I love you.
