I was thinking earlier today that I am not a fan club type of guy. Perhaps I don’t have enough free time, or maybe enough fanaticism about any one group, movie, or person to join one, let alone start one. But then I got to thinking: if I was going to start a fan club, who would be worthy of such devotion from the Elf? I mean, is anyone really worthy of their own fan club? Probably not. But having said that, there are plenty of people out there who are certainly more deserving than others, and yet are still overlooked.

Below is a list of some people I believe to be worthy of fan club status, whether they already have one or not.

• Yoda
• Duncan, the punk from Some Kind of Wonderful. “Punch her apron one time for me, eh?”
• That Cajun shrimp from the Muppets and the commercials for that restaraunt. “Dude, you are stifling me, okay!”
• Pretty much any character from The Lord of the Rings
• …and really every major character from Star Wars except for, of course, Luke and Jar Jar Binks
• Anna Kournikova
• The guy who invented beer
• God
• Anyone who can play guitar better than me (this is a mind bogglingly large number of people I know).
• Otto from A Fish Called Wanda
• Chow Yung Fat, even if I can’t spell his name
• George Washington
• Winston Churchill
• my wife is pretty cool

I will add to this list as I think of more people.
